ODD SLEEPING SCHEDULE
Do you deal with one?
Nearly 20% of people who work worldwide, work outside of the hours of 7 am to 6 pm, known as "shiftwork" (Wright, Richard, and Wyatt, 2013). This often forces people into an odd sleep schedule. Odd sleeping schedules can lead people to develop shift-work disorder (SWD).
SHIFT-WORK DISORDER (SWD)
"Shift work sleep disorder is a circadian rhythm sleep disorder characterized by sleep problems that stem from working long or irregular hours (Pacheco, D. (2020, November 19)."
Shift work disorder can lead to mood problems, poor work performance, and puts the person at a higher risk for accidents (Pacheco, D. 2020, November 19).
